Thank you for your advice about the amitriptyline. I think I am finding my tinnitus more intrusive because I believe the amitriptyline will make my tinnitus worse. A self-fulling prophecy so to speak. I did decide to go back to the 25 mg for a peace of mind. I talked to my husband and we decided it's in my best interest to contact you off the forum. Also my husband agrees that I need to stay away from all forums to help over come my problems I have with tinnitus.

I'll look forward to speaking with you (and your husband?) in the near future.

Coming to that conclusion puts you way way ahead of the game, in my opinion! As I have said elsewhere, tinnitus support boards "... tend to be dominated by individuals who have not yet overcome their tinnitus. Why else would they be there? So you need to ask yourself how healthy it is to be continually exposed to postings from the distinct minority of tinnitus sufferers who have not yet managed to figure out how to achieve for themselves precisely that which you desire to achieve for yourself."

All the best -

Stephen M. Nagler, M.D.
