Hi, I saw you about 20+ years ago here in Atlanta when tinnitus first affected me. I have managed to mostly ignore it for the last 19+ years but recently the volume has been turned up and I cannot get away from it right now. My regular doctor is recommending Ronald Steenerson MD. Are you familiar with him and his practice? Thanks, George

Yes, I know Dr. Steenerson. He is a well-established neurotologist who does a lot of work with cochlear implants, acoustic neuromas, otosclerosis, etc. CLICK HERE Hope this helps. Stephen M. Nagler, M.D.

Hi, I had an appt schedule with dr Steenerson however I was notified by his office that due to health issues he had suspended his practice. Is there another doctor you could recommend in the Atlanta area? The tinnitus is getting louder and I am getting more anxious. Thanks, George

I didn't know that Dr. Steenerson had suspended his practice because of health issues. Any competent ENT can do a basic tinnitus evaluation, if that is what you are looking for. If your concern is what you should do in terms of conducting your life were the the ENT exam be unrevealing, that really depends on to degree to which your tinnitus interferes with your enjoyment of life and your productivity. Thank you for the additional information regarding the specifics of Dr. Steenerson’s medical condition. I hope you don’t mind, but I have decided not to post it publicly. Best regards - Stephen M. Nagler, M.D.

George, I am going to disallow the two posts you submitted about the audiologist you saw today. I think she is fine - but I really do not like being put on the spot like that. If I did not think she was any good, what am I supposed to say on a public forum like this? Thank you for your kind understanding. Stephen M. Nagler, M.D.
