Hi Doctor Gangler,
First thank you very much for providing a place to ask questions.

A few months ago I started to have a noise in my right ear. I worry to much about it and I guess I made it worst by focusing into it, I started to use ear plugs, which  post made it worst and developed hyperacusis as you mentioned in other posts; sounds from the TV, even when people talk load causes me a reaction into my chest  to the point that became  heavy anxiety with heavy chest pain almost everyday. I cannot focus, I cannot watch tv, listen to radio and it's hard for me to go work. I cannot even talk to other people because If they talk load I get chest pain. I was prescribed sleeping pills (Ambien), which for some reason made the tone to be loader and sharper. I am quite desperate now. looking for any advice to calm me down.
Thanks
R.

Hello ruben09 and welcome.

I am sorry to hear that you are having so much difficulty. Reading through your post a few times, it seems to me that you have analyzed your situation quite thoroughly and accurately. One thing I did not see was any reference to an ENT evaluation. Before offering some thoughts regarding your sound tolerance issues and anxiety, I'd like to know if you have seen an ENT regarding the tinnitus in your right ear. If so, what did he or she say about it?

Stephen M. Nagler, M.D.
